Journal Publishing Coordinator Opportunity

Scottish Universities Press (SUP) is seeking to contract a freelance Journal Publishing Coordinator to contribute to the development of the shared open access university press for Scotland. The primary purpose of this freelance contract is to support the implementation of a journal publishing programme at SUP. SUP is a non-commercial press with shared ownership and management across member institutions of the Scottish Confederation of University & Research Libraries (SCURL). The scope of the platform has initially focused on publishing monographs but expansion to include journals is now underway.    

This freelance role will be responsible for supporting the implementation of the journal publishing component of the platform and onboarding the first journal content. 

A successful contractor will have experience of electronic resource management in academic libraries, an interest in open access publishing, excellent communication and digital skills, and an entrepreneurial approach to new ventures. 

This freelance contract is a wonderful opportunity for anyone with experience in academic publishing or library services to be part of an innovative, not-for-profit venture that aims to enhance the academic publishing landscape.
